Loy Yang, one of Australia's largest power stations, has upgraded facilities using replacement slew bearings supplied by Titanus Slew Rings (TSR) and Schaeffler. This technology reduced the replacement schedule and costs without compromising reliability, and service life.
TSR and Schaeffler partnered to specify, manufacture, and install split replacement slew bearings for their client. Marco Casagrande, TSR CEO says, “Split rings can be used to minimise disassembly of companion parts during ring replacement. Split rings require additional planning and engineering before and during manufacture. We provide installation supervision for onsite assembly to ensure that the ring performs to the same specification as the original bearing. The replacement ring is fully assembled and tested at Titanus works before stripping for transport to site.” The Loy Yang stacker is capable of handling heavy overhung loads while maintaining stability and durability. The TSR slew bearing design is the heart of the stacker installation, providing exceptional load capacity and precision while maintaining low friction and minimal maintenance requirements. The split design retains the original ring seal ensuring long-term durability and reliability.
